What can I do for you?
Are you looking for an outside the box thinker who is eager to learn, loves to help others whenever possible, and enjoys the challenge of solving problems? Are you looking for someone who is excited to create unique and engaging player experiences?
Look no further.
As a technical designer and level designer, I'm continually learning new techniques and more efficient ways to build systems with testing and balancing in mind. I've built a variety of systems from weapon systems, AI programming, camera systems, complex User Interfaces, character movement systems, and more! As for level designs, I'm a believer in 'John Romero's five rules to level design' and I expand those rules to tell a story in each area of my levels.
As validation to how much I care about games and developing them, after the first month of my Full Sail Capstone project using the Unity3d engine, I took on the task of getting the team's new RPG project up and running with a player inventory and shop system. The project went from having no item management to having a fully functional inventory/shop system where players can equip, unequip, buy, sell, place items in a stash, and even a crafting system within an incredibly short turnaround time, and I'll bring that dedication and enthusiasm everywhere I go.
For over eleven years I was a police officer, and I had the opportunity to teach and learn from some of the best people in my community. This experience helped me grow into a more empathetic and effective communicator, as some situations caused a need for different communication styles to help assist and solve problems and conflicts.
ABOUT ME
RESUME
Currently, I'm an associate at Walmart who in my spare time designs independent game projects!
I spent my childhood playing classic NES and SNES games and thinking about how the mechanics were made and how they could be better. Later I began creating levels, weapons, and game modes for Unreal Tournament 99. Many of those creations are still played today on select servers.
After moving on from modding Unreal Tournament 99, I picked up Unity and began designing game ideas, eventually creating my first released mobile game, 'Heroes of Dungeon'. This spurred my interest in becoming a developer and enrolled in Full Sail University, graduating as Valedictorian with a 3.92 GPA and earning the course director's award for Level Design.
Life outside of games is just as important. As I spend time with my three children, wife, daughter in law, and grandson. I also compete in triathlons, and have complted a full distance ironman in Tulsa, Oklahoma in May 2021.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this and I hope I can be of some assistance in the future.
